Yesterday Kris earned his first win of the season! You may have noticed I did not blog about last week’s game, Kris pitched six shut out innings and we were up 5-0 in the sixth. The Carp had a rough ending to the game and we ended up losing. Just one of those games that was so frustrating I couldn’t get myself to post about it!
Back to yesterday! The Carp won 6 to 3 with Kris pitching 8 1/3 innings. It had been pouring rain since about the end of the sixth and if I give my own thoughts, the umpire started squeezing him in the 9th. Either way Kris had a great game with 6 strikes outs, 3 earned runs, and he had two singles! He now has a batting average of .429 ( He is pretty stoked about this since pitchers normally do not have a good reputation for batting). All in all the Carp played a solid game and they ended up winning the series!
Thank you to Emiko for sending me pictures from her TV! I’m learning that whenever Kris has a really good game the camera tends to find me in the stands. You would think I would learn to keep a smile on my face the entire time, but I get so nervous I just can’t do it! I also get texts from my parents, his parents, and Emiko telling me I’m on TV texting….well hello I’m texting because you guys are texting me!!! haha. I think I am going to try to make the plastic poncho fashionable, that thing kept me completely dry! 🙂
Thank you to everyone who posted photos and wrote sweet messages on social media, we both enjoy looking at and reading all of them. Here is a few pictures I saved from Twitter.
The man who does the “hero interview” ( player of the game) after the game, came up to me in the eighth inning asking if I had a message I would like to give Kris. Once the man told Kris my message and Kris replied the entire stadium was clapping and cheering. It’s nerve racking when everyone turns to look at me…in the pouring rain…in my poncho!
Thanks for stopping by!
